Ederlezi is a Romani mid spring festival celebrating the earth's vibrant awaking after the bitter winter. Come dance to Balkan beats and Hot Club Swing. This is an all ages event. Come tie your wishes for the upcoming year to the wishing tree. Instead of jumping over a bonfire to purge yourself of all the negativity of the past year, you can write those thoughts on a piece of paper and toss them into a fire.
This year the Edmonton fiddlers will join the festivities.*
Proceeds from this event will go to the sponsorship of a refugee family of 7.This is Refugee Response Collective's 16th sponsorship and although I was sure I had reached the goal with the last fundraiser, it turns out I am only slightly short. This event will be the last fundraiser for this family.
In order to make this event accessible to everyone, we are offering it as a 'pay what you can event.' The goal is to able to make enough to pay the band and raise $1,000 for the new family.

If possible, we will hold this concert/dance outdoors, however- this is Alberta and we'll go inside the hall if the weather is unreliable. If held outdoors- please bring your lawn chairs or blankets. We will have snacks available for purchase. We will have a cash bar provided by the Riverdale Community League. Big thanks to the Riverdale Community League for helping to make this annual festival happen, again.
